The Seattle True Independent Film Festival is dedicated to the exhibition of independent, underground, experimental and zero budget films. The festival endeavors to provide cultural exchange and educational opportunities by bring a diverse selection of films to the area and provide a place for networking between local filmmakers, visiting filmmakers and the public.

STIFF was founded 7 years ago by a group of filmmakers that realized the type of films they and there friends were making didn't fit into the programs of the mainstream film festivals. STIFF put out the call and each year we find more and more filmmakers that are making True Independent Films. Films without big budgets and Hollywood Stars. Films that rely on creativity and passion to tell the story.

The founders also wanted to have a "Fun" festival. A festival that did not involve spending time in long lines or having to take out a second mortgage to purchase a pass. This year we are pleased to announce the Northwest Film Forum received a liquor license and you will now be able to drink a beer while watching films at all three of our venues. We promise 10 days of great films, parties, live music and comedy with no VIP area for the "Important People."
